Not only did he sell our home for the amount that we wanted, but he did it in the middle of a pandemic. I had not worked with Tom before. He had sent me a letter and business card after we had briefly listed our home as 'For Sale By Owner.' This letter introduced himself and told me about his discount commission services (nearly half what all the other agents charge). Well, trying to sell our home, ourselves, was a complete bust--the only inquires we received were from people wanting to sell us their services or investors wanting to wholesale our home. Tom stood out in a positive way, which catch my attention. I also researched his past listings, online, checking out the photos and descriptions (because, let's face it, that is what sells houses, today). I really did my homework. We had worked with a full commission real estate agent a couple years prior and while this person had a leading sales record for the area, they were not able to sell our house and the attention paid to us made it clear that our sale was not a priority (as our house was in the middle range of pricing. That agent sent out postcards, in our town, which only promoted homes in the top range of pricing, basically, mansions). We were a small fish to that other agent.
